Every 3D model on Ana3D comes from an openly licensed source, and the data keeps the licence of that source. The credit line of an atlas is printed under the model wherever it is shown, and it is baked into images exported from the viewer.

What the licences ask of you

Attribution. If you reuse an image or a model from this site, keep the credit line of its atlas. Images saved from the viewer already carry it.

Share-alike atlases. The Z-Anatomy and Open3DModel atlases are licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. Anything you adapt from them must be released under the same licence. The textures of Open3DModel are licensed for non-commercial use only and are not used here.

SPL atlases. The atlases of the Surgical Planning Laboratory are distributed under the 3D Slicer License, part B. Its disclaimer applies: they are designed for research purposes only; clinical applications are neither recommended nor advised.

Definitions show their source and licence directly under the text. Wikipedia is linked, never copied.

What is not used

Sources whose licence forbids commercial use or derivatives, or whose licence could not be verified, are not included. This is why some parts are missing from an atlas: for example, a few objects of the Z-Anatomy model are left out because their own sources are licensed for non-commercial use.

Real CT cases

The twelve case atlases are built from a public, anonymised research data set. They show the segmented organs and bones of real people; no skin or face surface is built. They are included because real anatomy differs from idealised models.

This page summarises the licences as the project understands them. It is not legal advice.
