두힘살근 뒤힘살은 입인두 동작에 관여하는 둘째 인두굽이 근육으로, 얼굴신경의 두힘살근가지의 지배를 받으며 뒤쪽 머리뼈바닥과 목뿔뼈장치에 부착한다. 턱목뿔근보다 얕은 곳에 있다.
