脳および脊髄を包む厚い線維性の髄膜性被膜。3枚の髄膜性被膜のうち最も外側のものである。頭蓋の内面に接する骨膜層の硬膜と、クモ膜の上にある髄膜層の硬膜の2層からなる。髄膜層は特定の部位で骨膜層から離れ、硬膜ヒダを形成する。
