後頭葉の構成要素。舌状回の吻側境界は海馬傍回の後端であり、尾側境界はこの回を描出できる最も後方の冠状断スライスであった。内側境界は側頭皮質および後頭皮質の内側部、外側境界は側副溝の内側壁であった（Christine Fennema-Notestine）。
