交感神经系统是脊椎动物自主神经系统的两个部分之一（另一个为副交感神经系统）。交感节前神经元的胞体位于脊髓的胸段和腰段，并与椎旁交感神经节链相连。支配心脏和血管、汗腺、内脏和肾上腺髓质。大多数（但并非全部）交感神经元以去甲肾上腺素作为节后神经递质[GO]。
