Ein mimischer Muskel, vom Nervus facialis innerviert, der an der Haut der Unterlippe und unterhalb der Unterlippe (beim Menschen wird diese Region Kinn oder Mentalregion genannt), am Musculus orbicularis oris und am Unterkiefer im Bereich der Symphyse befestigt ist.
