Thành phần của thuỳ chẩm. Ranh giới phía mỏ của hồi lưỡi là giới hạn sau của hồi cạnh hải mã, còn ranh giới phía đuôi là lát cắt đứng ngang sau cùng mà ở đó còn thấy được hồi này. Ranh giới trong và ngoài lần lượt là phần trong của vỏ não thái dương và vỏ não chẩm và bờ trong của rãnh bên phụ (Christine Fennema-Notestine).
